Bluetooth Kits

Do you use your phone in your car?

Do you realise that it is an offence to use a hand held device in a vehicle (parked or moving) which carries a minimum 6 points on your license and upto a £2000 fine.

In todays market, gone are the days of having to buy a new cradle or phone kit every time you change your phone.  Technology has come a long way and the most popular type of phone kit nowadays is a Bluetooth kit.  Generally speaking, there are 4 ways to get a bluetooth solution for your vehicle.

Please read on for further information to help you choose which bluetooth solution is right for you.

Universal

The most basic type of Hands Free kit is a universal (fit any vehicle) solution.  This maybe one of the poor quality ‘in ear’ devices, or the type of device that clips onto a sunvisor.  These are in no way linked to the vehicles speaker system, meaning you would have to turn the radio down or off in order to have a conversation.  Some are better than others and would give you phonebook dialing as well as answering and ending a phone call.

Integrated – Aftermarket

_DSC2873For an aftermarket solution the most well known and market leader is the Parrot range of professional phone kits.  Here at Source we are part of the Certified Parrot Installer Program and have the expertise to find something to suit your needs. There are several options within the Parrot range, with or without displays and with or without music connectivity.  All of these kits will synchronise the phonebook from the phone (dependant on the phone) which will allow you to never have to pick up or touch your phone again.  With the use of additional leads the phone conversation can be run through the existing car speakers so you can have a nice loud and clear conversation.

We also supply and fit factory phone kits (vehicle dependant) which would give you full control through factory telephone buttons on the stereo or steering wheel.  These kits would also use any displays that the car may have to give you phonebook information (phone dependant). This type of kit will mute the stereo system in the vehicle to give you the conversation through the vehicle speakers.

If you want to combine a phone kit with having a better sound in the vehicle then a replacement stereo can be used.  There are many stereos now on the market that have a bluetooth kit built into them, allowing you to use the stereo to answer and make calls.  Some of these will also give you access to your phonebook contacts so you don’t have to pick the phone up at all.

Testimonials

Just would like to say a big thank you to Lee and all the team there for sorting my music system out in my car today. It was much appreciated that you managed to help me to pick a new cd player and install it and also the help after showing me how it all worked. Great service and help from all in the shop (know you were all rushed off ya feet) and still managed to help me out. Hope to see you all again when i’m ready for a new set of speakers for my ford probe. All the best

I have had several products installed by Source and have always been happy with their service. They are a great bunch of guys who take the time to understand your needs and provide professional advice. No pushy sales just pure knowledge and friendly advice. I would not trust anyone else with my car audio and security.

Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to you guys at Source, especially Chris and Paul who over the past few weeks have impressed me no end. I went to them with a typically sub-standard BMW sound system, not really knowing how it should be improved and had a really friendly informal chat with Chris about the best route to take. What has impressed me most is that never at any point are the people here pushy – they really listen to your requirements and budget and make honest suggestions and give a number of options. Chris and Paul both spoke in some detail about what the issues were and how the problems could be addressed and I felt I was in safe, honest hands throughout the upgrade process. A whole new set of 3 way speaker set up and a new amp later the car sounds crystal clear like never before. Not wanting to change the head unit, the guys had solutions as to how to keep the car looking as factory as possible, and even asked me back in so they could check how the system has bedded in. Old components are carefully removed, allowing you to have them replaced should the car ever be sold. Their installation couldn’t be faulted and their customer service is genuinely excellent – polite, highly knowledgeable and above all honest, with their customer’s best interests at heart. I have no reservations in fully recommending them and have no doubt I will be back in future. Thanks again gents !! Jason
